This week I headed up American Fork Canyon with Chris and the intention of reaching Forrest Lake via the Ridge Line trail (157). We got a late start on the trail, almost around noon. The temperature by then was soaring and the trail was hot and dusty and caterpillars were everywhere! It felt like every step you took you had to dance to keep from squishing the little guys.

Chris on the Ridge Line Trail |
We didn't quite make it to our goal and stopped before Mill Canyon Peak. Between the sun and temperature we got tired quick. I had my UD Wasp hydration pack with me but all Chris had was his Nathan Belt which wasn't enough for this run.

Timp from Ridge Line Trail |
On the way back we saw the view of Timp up the Timpanoke Trail. I thought it would be fun to give it a try one of these days. I have read the blogs of people running up and seen the pictures of them standing at the summit. Chris and I talked about it for a bit and decided that we would do it sometime this summer.
